As Chair of the Board, I am proud to be part the Latino Community Foundation (LCF) family. Alongside our esteemed Board of Directors, I am extremely proud of LCF’s exceptional growth and impact over the past several years. We also remain deeply committed to the culture and values of LCF, especially as we prepare for this important leadership transition.
Together with Jacqueline Martinez Garcel and our Search committee, we have embarked in a thoughtful process to ensure a seamless transition for LCF. We understand the importance of an inclusive and transparent process that includes insights from many of you.
We are working with the talented, diverse team from Spencer Stuart led by Monica Stevens and Leo Espinoza. With their expertise and demonstrated ties to the Latino community, they are leading us through a national search anchored in the values of LCF. This past month, the Spencer Stuart team has met with community partners and the LCF team to inform this important transition. They will meet with additional key stakeholders this week.
During the meetings, Spencer Stuart has inquired about the distinctiveness of LCF from other foundations, as well as the opportunities and potential priorities for the future. Key highlights of these conversations have affirmed the following:
- LCF is distinctive in its unapologetic support of the Latino community. The values and the strong culture of love, power, courage, and boldness are greatly appreciated by the broader and internal community of LCF.
- Opportunities for the future include growing LCF’s footprint as a national leader, building more coalitions with other communities of color, and deepening their advocacy.
- The priorities for the next CEO include expanding the work of LCF in key regions of the state and beyond California. In addition, generating new revenue streams and expanding the team will be a core priority.
With this in mind, the Spencer Stuart team developed the specifications for the LCF CEO role with the attributes we are seeking in our next leader. I encourage you to review the detailed position specifications. We are excited about our candidate pool and we also welcome additional referrals from you, which may be sent to LCFCEO@spencerstuart.com.
We look forward to announcing our next CEO by January 2024. We will continue to update you as we move forward in the process.
Thank you for your unwavering support of LCF. Your commitment to our mission and values has been a pillar to our success and impact. We are excited about the future we’re building, together.
