We are just over 100 days before California’s historic primary election on March 3, 2020.
Our Latino community has been volunteering on campaigns, registering to vote, donating to candidates, and watching the Democratic Presidential Debates very closely.
And last week was a busy one for Latino civic engagement in California.
The Latino Community Foundation, in partnership with Latino Decisions, released a statewide poll of Latino voters. 74% of registered Latino voters plan on voting in the March primary, a pivotal sign of what is to come for Latino voter turnout in California.
Today, the Latino Community Foundation is continuing this momentum and releasing The Latino Presidential Questionnaire, a series of questions to all the 2020 Democratic Presidential Candidates on the issues facing California’s Latino Community.
Latino voters in California will play a critical role in determining the winner of California’s Democratic Primary. Over 7.7 million Latinos in the state are eligible to vote next March, making them the largest Latino voting bloc in the nation.
The goal of the questionnaire is to inform Latinos voters on their choices for president in the Democratic field and to provide them with a look on where the candidates stand on the issues before they cast their ballots next March. With this questionnaire, the Latino Community Foundation is continuing its mission of unleashing the power of Latinos in California by creating greater opportunities for Latinos to become civically engaged.
As a 501c (3) organization, the Latino Community Foundation does not endorse political candidates or parties. As such, we are not passing judgment on any responses of this questionnaire and will only be releasing answers as we receive them without any edits or analysis.
We hope you will join us in asking the campaigns to complete the questionnaire!
And don’t forget to register to vote! We’ll see you at the polls!
