Like so many of you, we are alarmed by what we are witnessing: a federal administration that has turned its force not only on vulnerable immigrant children and families, but also on the elected officials and nonprofit organizations—like Senator Alex Padilla and CHIRLA—who dare to speak up for them.

At the Latino Community Foundation (LCF), we believe the only way forward is to act with love, courage, and urgency. That’s why today we are mobilizing $175,000 in new grants from our Latino Power Fund to trusted grassroots organizations. These grants will support legal defense for detained immigrants, emergency aid and rapid response networks, and the protection of immigrant families across California. We’re proud to support powerful frontline partners including:

Our funding strategy is guided by what we have learned directly from community partners and their identification of the most urgent needs. That’s why we’ve invested in the Central Valley and the Bay Area—to ensure families can access trusted legal services both in their own communities and in the regional hubs they rely on. Our investments also extend to Los Angeles and the border region, where community-based organizations are working tirelessly to meet the overwhelming demand for legal defense and direct aid. Along the southern border, we are supporting partners like Al Otro Lado, who are providing critical, real-time assistance to families navigating complex immigration challenges after deportation.

Together, these grants aim to strengthen the broader ecosystem of immigration legal support across California by boosting the capacity of the trusted infrastructure our communities rely on.

This urgent work is possible because of your ongoing support of our Latino Power Fund. Thank you for helping to move our collective resources to where they are needed most.
