With less than 1 percent of philanthropic dollars invested into Latino-led organization, the Latino Giving Circle Network™ is targeting their resources for grassroot leaders in their communities to counter this statistic
This year, our Latino Giving Circle Network™ (LGCN) invested close to $350,000 into 39 Latino-led organizations across California to increase and mobilize Latino youth leadership, support entrepreneurs, increase access to health care, and more. As the largest group of its kind in the nation, LGCN has engaged over 1,000 philanthropists who are committed to creating substantive social change and invested over $2.9 million to date.
Our Network has prioritized investments for grassroot organizations that are at the core of Latino power-building across the state of California. “Latino-led nonprofits are the lifelines that run through our communities,” said Anais Amaya, Latino Giving Circle Network™ Director. “We are proud to see this group of leaders securing the financial resources our Latino grassroot leaders need in order to build the future Latino families deserve.”
In our most recent study conducted in partnership with the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation and the Center for Effective Philanthropy, the LGCN has demonstrated a positive change mental wellbeing of its members and cultivated a commitment to create social change:
- ·94% of LGCN members shared that they did not feel alone in the US after they joined their Circle
- ·78% said they believed their giving circle responded to the needs of Latino-led organizations
- ·70% said they believed their giving circle had helped raise awareness of solutions to problems affecting Latino communities
- ·84 % said they believed their giving circles established deeper and more meaningful connections between LGCN members and Latino-led organizations
