The recent ICE-related protests in Los Angeles have drawn widespread attention and reflect growing concern within communities. This call for justice, dignity, and accountability is spreading across California and the nation, reminding us that when our communities rise, they don’t rise alone.
Following the 2024 election, LCF announced strategic capacity grants to six frontline grassroots immigrant rights organizations across California. These grants are part of our ongoing commitment to strengthening and supporting organizations on the frontlines—defending immigrant rights, advocating for fair and equitable policies rooted in our shared humanity, and building long-term power within Latino communities.
As the situation unfolds in Los Angeles and across California, our team is working in real time—listening to our partners, tracking what’s happening on the ground, advocating to our elected leaders, and mobilizing resources to meet urgent and emerging needs. We are making sure trusted community leaders have the support they need to respond swiftly, protect families, and organize for long-term change. We stand firmly with them as they rise to meet this moment.
This shared commitment to action is echoed throughout our broader community. LCF’s Latino Giving Circle Network®—the largest network of Latino philanthropists in the country—has made a collective commitment to immigrant justice, directing resources to grassroots, immigrant-led organizations serving our communities on the frontlines.
Know that we are moving with the urgency this moment demands.
The spirit that built this nation lives in our immigrant communities. We see it every day as we work alongside grassroots leaders. Our potential and promise are great because of their courage and strength, not in spite of it.
In moments like this, we are reminded of our collective power, of the strength that emerges when communities unite to protect our shared humanity. As allies, we will uplift our communities, defend our rights, and build a future rooted in justice and hope.
Thank you for standing with us—now and always.
