At the Latino Community Foundation, we believe in the power of community to create meaningful change. Although these funds are now closed, they represent our ongoing commitment to investing in the resilience, leadership, and future of our communities.

We continue to support and partner with organizations that are building a more equitable, empowered future for all.

Love Not Fear Fund

In March 2020, the Latino Community Foundation (LCF) launched the Love Not Fear Fund to ensure that the most vulnerable Latino communities survive the COVID-19 global pandemic and that the grassroots nonprofits who serve our families do not cease to exist. While our investments reached statewide, we focused our efforts on regions with the most essential workers, yet the least philanthropic support: the Central Valley and Inland Empire.

Our Love Not Fear Fund CF awarded $5,320,700 to 121 Latino-led nonprofits doing vital COVID-19 emergency response work in the most underserved and rural areas of the state. These nonprofit organizations stood (and stand) alongside our undocumented, farmworker, and senior members of our community. They played both defense and offense, supporting the immediate needs of Latino and undocumented families, while organizing these same families to radically re-imagine our world.  This fund is now closed.

Nuestro Futuro 2.0

The Latino Community Foundation (LCF) launched the Nuestro Futuro Fund in 2016 to provide capacity grants to Latino-led organizations, supporting legal aid, defend immigration rights, and/or support youth civic and political engagement in response to President Trump’s first administration.

Our grants gave these nonprofits critical core support to quickly build staff capacity, recruit new volunteers, and provide the necessary legal support and information to keep countless families safe and children in school. The majority of investment made its way to the Central Valley—a hub of economic power and immigrant labor, but also a region plagued with anti-immigrant rhetoric, worker exploitation, and a lack of access to free or low-cost legal services. These funds helped keep families together and offer immigrant youth the opportunity to realize their American dream.

The Nuestro Futuro 2.0 fund awarded $124,000 to 12 Latino-led grassroots organizations that collectively reached over 300,000 community members. This fund is now closed.

Mexico Earthquake Relief Fund

The Latino Community Foundation grieved with our friends and families affected by the earthquake in Mexico. The road to recovery was long, but our community proved to be strong and resilient. The images of everyday people coming together to help their neighbors reminded us that our culture is built on community, generosity, and love.

In response, we created a relief fund to support the recovery efforts in Mexico. Thanks to the generosity of our community, we granted out $11,717 to MX to aid in the rebuilding and healing process. This fund is now closed.

Puerto Rico Hurricane Relief Fund

In the wake of a humanitarian crisis in Puerto Rico—where families faced power outages, water shortages, and limited access to food—the Latino Community Foundation partnered with the Hispanic Federation to provide urgent relief through the UNIDOS Disaster Relief Fund. With boots-on-the-ground coordination and a trusted network of local organizations, this fund delivered vital resources directly to impacted communities. Thanks to the generosity of our donors, we were able to grant more than $8,000 to support immediate needs and long-term recovery. While the fund is now closed, our commitment to Puerto Rico remains strong as we continue to advocate for lasting investment and resilience across the Island. This fund is now closed.
