As the Policy Intern, Axel supports the foundation’s efforts to advance policy solutions that will improve the lives and political power of California’s Latino community.

Axel is originally from the Imperial Valley where he graduated as valedictorian of his class at Imperial High School in Imperial, CA. He is currently a rising junior at Georgetown University, majoring in economics with a minor in government.

Drawing from his experiences in his predominantly Latino hometown, Axel actively works to close the disparities that exist for low-income students at Georgetown. As Director of Financial Accessibility for the Georgetown University Student Association, Axel successfully spearheaded a campaign to guarantee bridge-housing to housing insecure students over the summer. He has also worked closely with Georgetown’s Office of Financial Services to reform Georgetown University’s financial aid policy to be as fair, inclusive, and accessible as possible.
