Our Story
The origin story of the Latino Giving Circle Network begins with the SF Latina Giving Circle founded by 14 Latinas who wanted to see change in their communities. These bold “Fundadoras” or founders, were looking for a way to build and serve the community. LCF created a unique space for authentic relationship building. We poured wine, shared personal stories, and broke bread together at the San Francisco Foundation Board room. Each month, we recruited new members and grew to 40 members– the rest is history!
Today this circle remains as one of the largest with 40 members who are civically active, fun loving and have incredible careers across all sectors. They continue to build an intergenerational space centered on relationships, love and mentorship for Latinas across the city. In 2020, they became one of our first Circles to distribute rapid response funds in the early days of the pandemic.
