MATT CERVANTES – CO-FOUNDER, SACRAMENTO LATINO GIVING CIRCLE
Matt has been a powerful and loving force behind the Sacramento Giving Circle. He has been committed since day one and now celebrates their first round of grants! In his day job, he is the Director of Health Programs at the Sierra Health Foundation, which reduces health disparities in California through convenings, education and grantmaking. Thank you for everything Matt!
What is one dream you have yet to accomplish?
Seeing my 11-year-old daughter to and through college and onto adulthood is at the top of my list, but also fly fishing in Alaska is a close second.
What motivates you to stay involved with the LGCN?
The potential of harnessing the human capital and financial resources of our Latino brothers and sisters in the fight for equity and justice in the most populous state in the union.
How can we unleash the power of Latinos?
One of the ways we can do this is by working together as a community and second, we must work just as hard to stand in solidarity amongst movements and with other racial, ethnic, and cultural communities.
