Maricela is a determined and driven leader who is passionate about advocating and helping underrepresented low-income communities navigate systems.
As the Senior Executive Assistant, Maricela supports the CEO and senior team to make sure their day runs smoothly.
Before joining the LCF family, Maricela worked at the Child Care Coordinating Council of San Mateo County in Redwood City. Maricela assisted over a hundred low-income bi-cultural families in obtaining necessary childcare services. She built strong relationships with families in order to efficiently find the best services for the families’ needs. At Eastside College Preparatory School in East Palo Alto, as office manager and residential faculty, Maricela supported about two hundred and fifty underrepresented students in becoming first generation college students. She was a part of the students’ support team and a bridge between students, families, and the school.
Maricela graduated from California State University, East Bay with a Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology and a minor in Psychology. She was born in Michoacan, Mexico and raised in East Palo Alto by her single mother along with her five siblings. In her free time, Maricela loves to spend time with her family and dog, Sol. She enjoys cooking, traveling, and dancing to merengue and cumbia.
