At the Latino Community Foundation (LCF), we are proud to call Mexican-Americans and Puerto Ricans family. They are our Trustees, staff, community partners and members of our Latino Giving Circles. The suffering caused by the two major earthquakes and hurricanes has been heartbreaking for all of us. The devastation has been unprecedented and the road to recovery will be a long one.
A network of Bay Area radio stations (98.5 FM, 102.9 FM, 95.7 FM, 96.5 FM, and 102.1 FM) will be partnering with LCF to raise funds for the long term relief and reconstruction efforts in Mexico – Mexico Earthquake Relief Fund. Over the next three weeks the stations will use the vast reach of their listeners and social media platforms to raise funds to support families in Mexico. The funds will support local organizations that are having the most impact on the ground – especially in rural areas where help is desperately needed.
We are also partnering with our friends at the Hispanic Federation to support their fundraising efforts for families in Puerto Rico and the Dominican Republic. We urge you to contribute to the UNIDOS Disaster Relief Fund. 100% of those resources will be immediately deployed to assist families in crisis.
The rebuilding of entire cities and countries will take decades and will require all of us to go beyond what we have already done. Let us not grow weary in doing good. Our show of support and solidarity right now -and the long run- is what will keep the hope alive in the hearts of our brothers and sisters in Mexico and the Caribbean. This is beyond the dollars – this is about sending a message of love, hope, and faith that we will rise from the ashes, together!
Please make a contribution today and help share the LCF Mexico Earthquake Relief Fund on social media.
With immense love and gratitude,
Your family at the Latino Community Foundation
